The Haiti relief program-Andy Caswell Interview with Mrs. Wesswick
We were all shocked at the news of Haiti. We never would have guessed that an earthquake could do so much damage to such a small country This all happened on January 13 and that will never be forgotten.
As you know, Goddard helped with helping Haiti. We had raised over 1,500 dollars. That was only possible because of Mrs. Wesswick, student council, NJHS or national junior honor society, and Goddard’s community service club, and of course you. Goddard got the idea to help Haiti by this web site, Roadtohope.org. This website was created by two people in Littleton to help Haiti’s orphanages. They also help Haiti’s playgrounds. When the earthquake hit Haiti, the website started focusing on helping people stay alive in Haiti. They did that by raising money for shelters, food and water. When we helped Haiti in our school fundraiser that started the week of January 25 and ended January 29, we gave the money to build orphanages for Haitian kids.
Though we helped Haiti raise $1,580, the small island will take a long time to get back to their regular days and nights. Though, it was widespread and needed lots of money so it may take sometime to get better. When they do they will be better and stronger then they were before. That means, with the money raised, Haiti will have better built houses, lots of food supply, and running water. So if another earthquake hits Haiti there won’t be as much damage as before.
The website, Roadtohope.org sent us a letter Here it is.
I lka Omdahl, Melisa Wesswick and the student council at Goddard Middle School,

On Behalf of the Road to Hope, we would like to thank you for your great effort for the children of Haiti. The money you raised will be used for food, water, and medicine, schooling and safe shelter for the children. Thank you so much for caring about the children in Haiti!
Rich and Lisa Harris,
The Road to Hope

Movie Review
Alice in wonderland
In 2010 I saw a magnificent movie, Alice in wonderland. This movie was filled with magical scenes that fit the book very well. Just in case you haven’t seen this movie, or read the book I’ll tell you about it.
This movie is about this girl named Alice who, when she was younger, dreamed she fell down a rabbit hole. Though, the story is then forwarded into time when Alice is about 17 or 18 and they are going to a ball, or an outdoor dance. Because this was so elegant Alice’s boyfriend proposes to her. She says in return, she needs a moment to think about it, only to follow a white rabbit she sees wearing a coat of some kind. She keeps following it until she gets to a rabbit hole. She simply looks inside, though she fell right in the hole. She falls, and falls, falls, forever it seemed like until she landed in a room with tons of doors. All of the doors are locked except one little door behind the Curtin. Although, she could not fit through the door, a key popped out of no where on a table. She grabs the key and unlocks the door, though she was still big compared to the door. Then she sees a bottle and drinks it. She shrinks down to the door size but she left the key on the table so there is a cake that appears and so she eats it. Then she grows bigger and grabs the key drinks another bottle and shrinks down. She opens the door to wonderland.
Along the way she meets many strange characters along the way, such as the mad hatter played by Johnny Depp, The march Hare, Tweedle dee and Tweedle Dum, the Cheshire cat, the white queen. She even meets characters she doesn’t like, such as the red queen and her army of hearts.
In all I thought this movie was really good. It had a lot of action that always kept your focus, and it had wonderful characters like Johnny depp and Anne Hathaway. I do recommend everyone to see it.
